This event is designed by and for Resettlement Assistance Program (RAP) staff in the Atlantic region.
Hosted by ARAISA, this professional development session aims to provide training to staff from the eight Atlantic RAP SPOs. Training and capacity-building initiatives tailored for RAP staff are essential to supporting their work and equipping them with the tools and strategies needed to serve their clients effectively. The event will focus on key learning and sharing topics, including:
- The RAP Program in Focus: IRCC National and Regional perspectives, requirements, and insights from the National RAP Working Group
- Strength in Collaboration: Atlantic RAP SPOs sharing best practices, tools, and strategies on staff onboarding, the RAP Handbook, housing challenges and solutions, the RAP-to-settlement handover tool, and insights from small centres and Francophone SPOs.
- Trauma of Money: Trauma-sensitive financial literacy guidance for Resettlement Assistance Program Delivery

Travel Information
- Participants (except those located in Newfoundland and Labrador) are expected to drive to the venue and arrange their own transportation. ARAISA encourages carpooling whenever possible.
- Travel Days
- Before the event: February 24 (all participants)
- After the event: February 26 (all participants)
Venue Information
ARAISA will book and cover hotel accommodations directly with the Chocolate Lake Hotel for the eligible participants.
Participants do not need to book their own rooms.
Please note:
A valid credit card will be required for the room deposit and to cover any incidental charges.
Parking is free at the venue.
Travel Expenses
Please review the Travel Policy here before the event to ensure your travel expenses, such as per diems, align with ARAISA’s policy and are eligible for reimbursement.
The hotel room reservation includes breakfast, and ARAISA will provide lunch on both event days. Per diem claims for these meals will not be eligible for reimbursement.
