To understand the role of immigration in shaping the demographics and economy of Prince Edward Island, we:

• collect and tabulate data on immigration to Prince Edward Island for the period 2001 – 2024, with a focus on the economic objectives of immigration

• provide a descriptive analysis of the data to understand the demographic and geographic dimensions of immigration to Prince Edward Island as they relate to the economic objectives of immigration

• identify some gaps in research that can provide necessary information for an informed public policy discussion on immigration, and to implement immigrant attraction, integration, and retention strategies in the province.
