This 2-day event is designed by and for frontline staff of ARAISA member organizations.
Frontline workers are foundational to all organizations’ capacity in the settlement and integration sector. This professional development event is an opportunity to build frontline staff capacity in the workplace on the theme of diversity. This capacity-building event aims to provide tools and strategies to frontline staff to serve newcomer communities effectively.
Join us for an engaging event focused on breaking down the barriers faced by diverse and 2SLGBTQIA+ newcomers in accessing services. Learn from experts about identifying specific barriers that diverse newcomers may face. Discover how to provide respectful and inclusive support while addressing biases and safeguarding privacy. The event will also showcase innovative projects and programs making a difference in the sector.

Travel Information
- Participants (except those located in Newfoundland and Labrador) are expected to drive to the venue and arrange their own transportation. ARAISA encourages carpooling whenever possible.

- Before the event: February 4 (all participants)
- After the event:
- February 6 (Participants located within 250 km of Saint John)
- February 7 (Participants located more than 250 km from Saint John)
Hotel Accommodations
ARAISA will book and cover hotel accommodations directly with the Delta Hotel for the eligible participants.
Participants do not need to book their own rooms.
Please note:
A valid credit card will be required for the room deposit and to cover any incidental charges or parking fees.
Parking fees incurred at the venue can be claimed from ARAISA after the event.
Travel Expenses
Please review the Travel Policy here before the event to ensure your travel expenses, such as per diems, align with ARAISA’s policy and are eligible for reimbursement.
ARAISA will provide breakfast and lunch on February 5 and 6. Per diem claims for these meals will not be eligible for reimbursement.
