This toolkit aims to provide settlement and integration organizations with communications best practices and messaging that articulate the value of immigration to local communities and the benefit of settlement and integration services in unlocking that value.

Against the backdrop of upcoming provincial and federal elections, there has been growing discontent and negative sentiment surrounding immigration to Canada. Recent research shows that an increasing proportion of Canadians believe the country accepts too many immigrants—58% according to a September 2024 Environics Institute survey. An increasing number of Canadians are also expressing doubts about how well newcomers are integrating into Canadian society, expressing concern about status validity and adoption of Canadian values.
This toolkit is intended for communications staff, front-line personnel, and leadership of settlement and integration service provider organizations.
